Why shoud I buy from Spudnik Farms instead of shopping at a grocery store?
- By subscribing to Spudnik’s farm box, you take control of what you eat. Choose from a variety of fresh farm produce and enjoy additional offerings like honey, and artisanal products such as pickles, papads, chips, and sauces—sourced from trusted partners.
- Subscription helps you save money. Paying a consistent price for your box irrespective of market rates makes you immune to inflationary prices with no compromise on quality and freshness.
- Enjoy the convenience of having fresh, organic vegetables delivered directly to your doorstep.
- Local and direct procurement means a shorter supply chain, resulting in fresher and higher quality produce for you while also reducing your carbon footprint.
- At Spudnik Farms, flavour is at the heart of everything we do. We prioritise growing naati/desi varieties, which are naturally more flavourful. Unlike many modern hybrids developed for yield or shelf life, we focus on producing vegetables that prioritise taste and the experience of the consumer.
- Subscribing enables thoughtful planning, ensuring that the vegetables you receive are harvested at their peak maturity. This guarantees maximum flavour while minimising waste.
- Spudnik ensures full traceability—you’ll know exactly where your food comes from and the farmers who grow it.
- By subscribing to Spudnik, you support and empower local farmers and economies, helping to create a more sustainable and community-driven food system.
How does the Spudnik Network benefit the farmers?
Spudnik is committed to ensuring a secure livelihood for its partner farmers by helping them plan better, grow better, and sell better.
Subscriptions allow us to create production plans with our farmers, ensuring a regular and diverse supply of produce and better resource utilisation. Our demand-driven production model also provides a guaranteed market for produce, thereby reducing wastage. This eases cash flow challenges, freeing farmers from the burden of external loans and shielding them from market pressures and price fluctuations. Moreover, by adopting sustainable farming practices, partner farmers become more self-reliant and environmentally conscious. These practices promote soil health, enhance long-term productivity, and contribute to a healthier ecosystem overall.
How do I arrange a farm visit?

Do I need to subscribe to receive farm produce?
Yes. Register on our website and head to the Products page to select the box you want to subscribe to. Once added to your cart, you can pay and your subscription begins!
What does subscription mean?
By subscribing to Spudnik Farms, you choose to support a local farmer. Subscriptions are available throughout the year. The minimum subscription duration is 4 weeks - this means you are entitled to receive 4 boxes of fresh produce from our farms.
By subscribing, consumers also take on a small portion of the risk that comes with farming. In (rare) instances of crop failure or diminished productivity, we may not be able to provide subscribers with their entire weekly box of produce. Spudnik Farms will give you replacements for the missed items in the next scheduled delivery.
What size and type of farm box should I subscribe to?
The “Products” section provides information on the types of fruits and vegetables included in each subscription plan, along with the approximate portion size. Choose the subscription plan that suits your requirements best. Please call/message us at +91 7349632966 or drop us a line if you require further assistance with your farm box.
What if I need to skip a delivery or leave for vacation?
We offer the flexibility to pause/resume your delivery by marking it active/inactive in the My Subscriptions section of your Spudnik profile. We request you to make these changes 48 hours before the delivery date mentioned.
Alternatively, if you would like to donate your box to a friend, co-worker, family member, or neighbour (within our delivery area) who can enjoy the produce for themselves while you are away - please reach out to us for the same. You can call or message or email support@spudnikfarms.com.
What should I do if I am unsatisfied with my service?
Spudnik tries to provide you with the freshest and best quality produce and service. Please write to us or call/ message at or email if you are unsatisfied with our service for any reason, and we will sort the issue out.
What should I do if I am moving?
You can change your delivery address on your Spudnik profile. Please check if the new address is in an area serviceable by us. Alternatively, you can call or message or email support@spudnikfarms.com.
How do I cancel my service?
We hate to lose a customer, but if you wish to cancel your subscription, you can put in a cancellation request on the website. Once the delivery crate is returned, the cancellation is approved and the refund of the security deposit is processed. Please note that we do not entertain cancellation requests while the subscription is ongoing, and encourage you to complete your current subscription cycle before cancelling. We also allow gifting of remaining deliveries in an active subscription to a friend, so long as the delivery location is within our serviceable area. What kinds of fruit/veggies can I expect in my box?
We believe that the first step in eating healthy is eating local and seasonal produce. All of Spudnik’s produce is grown according to seasons and local weather and soil conditions - basically when it is meant to grow naturally. While this means we do not provide cool-weather crops like lettuce, cabbage, cauliflower etc year-round, it ensures you eat safe, chemical-free produce since farmers are not forced to rely on chemicals and pesticides to grow unseasonal crops. We place a special emphasis on heirloom varieties and native crops, allowing you to sample the best that the land has to offer! Here's a list of crops that we've grown and supplied so far, though you can expect a surprise new veggie or fruit variety in your box every so often!
Seasonal Veggies: Beans, cowpeas, hyacinth beans, green channa, carrot, beetroot, okra, capsicum, brinjal, unripe jackfruit, baby potatoes, field beans, cherry tomato, cabbage, cauliflower, pumpkin, ridge gourd, ash gourd, winged beans, radish, sweet potato, jicama, unique native tubers from the yam and colocasia families, air potato, banana stem, banana flower, raw papaya, greens/herbs like spinach, fenugreek, amaranthus, lettuce, edible chrysanthemum, thyme, dill, chives, mustard, purslane, pak choy, moringa, mallow, chukka, water spinach and many more.
Fruit: Papaya, chikoo, banana, pineapple, grapes, avocado, water apple, custard apple, mosambi, pomegranate, mango, apple, melon, watermelon and many more.
Note: Our fruit and vegetables are all subject to seasonal availability and are supplied to you as soon as they are harvested. This means you won't get the same types of vegetables all year round. You will, however, get the best of the season, every season!
Can I choose what comes in my farm box?
Absolutely! You can personalise your subscription to suit your preferences. Head to your Spudnik account profile > Vegetable Preferences. Here you can let us know the vegetables/ fruit you dislike or wish to avoid, and we’ll ensure they don’t make it into your basket. We'll try our best to accommodate your preferences, though we do ask for a little leeway in sending you the best available/ freshest veggies that are currently being harvested. You can also let us know of vegetables and/ or fruit that you have always wanted to try but can’t find in the market, and we'll attempt to grow them for you! (subject to weather, soil and availability of seeds, of course).
Your preferences list can be modified once a month. We use your preferences (from the form) to create a production plan for our farmers and deliver based on what is available for harvest. Too many and/ or too frequent changes in your farm box would be counter-productive.
How often can I change the vegetables or fruits in my farm box?
Your preferences list can be modified once a month by going to the Vegetable Preferences section in your Spudnik Farms profile. One of the reasons for making you select your preferences is to help us plan and organise production with our partner farmers. This helps us minimise wastage and increase productivity. Too many and/ or too frequent changes in your farm box would be counter-productive. Hence, we request you change your farm box only if you dislike or are allergic to a particular vegetable. From our side, we will try to ensure that you receive an interesting mix of vegetables every week.
Is all your produce organic?
Yes, all our produce is grown using organic and sustainable farming practices.
While we encourage our farmers to be certified, not all are certified organic by a third-party agency. The decision to be organic can be separated into 2 parts - a production decision to use organic practices and a marketing decision to certify. We work exclusively with smallholder and marginalised farmers, who typically follow natural farming methods inspired by permaculture principles and the use of locally available resources. However, many of them are hesitant and/or unable to get certification under the National Program for Organic Production (APEDA) or the Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) of the Government of India based on their perception of the costs and benefits of certification. Third-party certification (APEDA and PGS) can involve substantial costs, including financial costs, prolonged processes, longer crop rotations, and interactions with the certification agency. Very often despite certification, farmers are unable to get a better price for their produce, discouraging them from getting certification. Having said that, we are committed to providing you with safe, chemical-free produce sourced straight from farmers we can trust. Unlike typical aggregators, we have a rigorous monitoring and testing process to ensure that no pesticides or harmful chemicals are used in growing our produce. This involves farmer training, advisory services, regular field visits, and sample testing at accredited labs from time to time, giving us the confidence to say that all our produce is grown organically without the use of chemicals and pesticides.
How can I be sure that Spudnik produce is organic?
At Spudnik Farms, we believe that knowing your farmer personally fosters a deeper sense of trust than relying on a faceless certifying body. This is why we encourage you to visit Spudnik Farms and see our practices firsthand. In addition, our rigorous monitoring and testing processes ensure that your produce is completely free from harmful chemicals and pesticides, giving you peace of mind with every bite.
What if I do not like or am allergic to certain items in my farm box?
Head to the Vegetable Preferences section in your Spudnik profile. You can mention your allergies in the ‘Special Instructions’ section or mark them in the ‘Vegetables you hate or would like to avoid’ section.
What if I receive a vegetable I am unfamiliar with?
Please check our "Blog" section to look for recipes. You can also just call/message us at +91 7349632966 or email us at support@spudnikfarms.com, and we'll share some recipes with you.
